The inaugural Hong Kong Strawberry Festival will be held from December 12th to 14th, showcasing at least 12 varieties of locally grown strawberries. A legislator stated that the large temperature difference in Ta Kwu Ling makes it ideal for growing strawberries and various fruits and vegetables. The event will allow participants to "pick and eat on the spot," and guided tours will introduce strawberry varieties, the northern metropolitan area, and urban-rural integration. Phoenix Farm, spanning 200,000 square feet, boasts over 10 varieties of strawberries, each with its own story. She explained that it's strawberry season, hence the event's focus, but they also have corn, mustard greens, bananas, sugarcane, and cherry tomatoes. "Danshee" strawberries are more expensive in supermarkets, but at the Ta Kwu Ling Farm, they're "more than half the price," and she believes they taste better. She noted that standing in the strawberry field, you can smell the subtle strawberry aroma even with your eyes closed. She added that the farm participates in the "Farm + Entertainment" program, hoping to help the public better understand local products. Extracted from Oriental News 11/27/2025

As Nigeria embraces digital transformation, 2025 marks a breakthrough year for the manufacturing and communications sectors. Advancements in technology are not only changing large industries, but they are also creating valuable opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and tech startups. From AI-driven automation to renewable energy and 5G expansion, these innovations are paving the way for economic growth and business transformation.
Smart and Automated Manufacturing
While large factories integrate machine learning and predictive maintenance tools, SMEs are increasingly adopting cost-effective digital solutions to boost efficiency. One notable example is Nigerian startup Ecotutu, which is playing a crucial role in the sector. By equipping small agro-processors with solar-powered cold storage units, Ecotutu’s “pay-as-you-chill” model not only helps reduce post-harvest losses but also ensures food quality, all without relying on unstable power grids.
